1. Overview

Traq ("we", "us", or "our") is a workout tracking app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, when we share it with service providers, and the choices available to you.

We collect information needed to operate your account, save your workouts, and provide Traq's features. We also use limited app activity and device information to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and understand how people use Traq.

Traq does not display advertisements inside the app. However, we use the TikTok Business SDK to measure advertising performance and app events. Depending on your device settings and consent, this may involve tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

We do not sell your workout records or use the contents of your workouts to personalize advertisements.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account information you authorize that provider to share. Passwords managed by our authentication service are protected using secure hashing and are not stored in plain text.

We also use account identifiers to authenticate users and associate saved data with the correct account.

Workout and routine data

We collect the information you enter into Traq, including:

This information is used to provide workout tracking, progress monitoring, and account backup functionality.

Traq does not currently read workout information from Apple Health or other health-data services.

We do not intentionally send your workout records, exercise history, weights, or training goals to TikTok for advertising purposes.

App usage and interaction data

Traq integrates the TikTok Business SDK to measure app activity and the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.

Depending on the SDK configuration, information collected may include:

This information helps us understand whether advertising campaigns result in app installations and other conversions.

Device identifiers

Our advertising measurement provider may collect device identifiers, including advertising identifiers where permitted by applicable device settings and privacy permissions.

These identifiers may be used to measure advertising effectiveness, attribute installations and conversions, and associate events with advertising interactions.

Approximate location

Our advertising measurement provider may derive approximate geographic information, such as a general region or city, from your device's IP address.

We do not request precise GPS location access for advertising measurement.

Purchase and subscription information

When you purchase Traq Pro, Apple processes your payment.

We may process information about subscription status, purchase confirmation, and entitlement status to provide paid features.

Limited purchase and subscription conversion events may also be transmitted to TikTok for advertising measurement.

Traq does not receive or store your full payment card information.

Diagnostic and performance information

Traq or its integrated service providers may collect technical diagnostic information, such as crash reports, performance information, and other information used to identify errors and improve app reliability.

Where collected, this information is used for analytics, troubleshooting, and maintaining the app.

3. How your data is stored

On your device

Your workout data is stored locally in the app's private, sandboxed storage so Traq can function offline.

Your authentication session is stored using the iOS Keychain, which is protected by the operating system.

Local information may also be included in device backups managed by Apple or your chosen backup service.

In the cloud

Your account and workout data are backed up to our database hosted through Supabase, which uses cloud infrastructure including Amazon Web Services.

We use database-level access controls to restrict access to individual users' records.

Data is protected using encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and encryption at rest.

Advertising measurement data

App events and associated technical information collected by the TikTok Business SDK may be transmitted to TikTok's systems and processed according to its applicable privacy practices.

This advertising measurement information is separate from the workout records stored in your Traq account.

Email

We send transactional account emails, such as account confirmations and password reset messages, through our email provider.

We do not currently send promotional marketing emails.

4. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

We do not use the contents of your workout records for advertising targeting.

5. Advertising measurement and tracking

Traq uses the TikTok Business SDK to measure the performance of advertising campaigns promoting our app.

This technology may collect or process device identifiers, app interaction events, purchase conversion events, and approximate location information derived from IP addresses.

Depending on the data involved and how it is used, these activities may constitute tracking under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

App Tracking Transparency

Where required, Traq requests your permission before allowing tracking activities that require authorization under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

You may allow or decline this permission.

You can also review or change tracking permissions in your iPhone's settings:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

Declining tracking permission does not prevent you from using Traq's workout tracking features.

Certain advertising measurement activities that do not require tracking permission may continue, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

Third-party advertising

Traq does not display third-party advertisements inside the app.

However, we may share limited app event and device information with TikTok to measure and optimize advertising campaigns for Traq.

TikTok's handling of information is also subject to its own privacy policies and applicable legal obligations.

6. Service providers

We use third-party services to operate and improve Traq.

These include:

These providers may process information necessary to perform their respective services.

We do not authorize TikTok to receive the contents of your workout records for advertising purposes.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

Traq Pro purchases are processed through Apple's App Store.

Apple handles payment information, including payment card details. Traq does not receive or store your full payment card information.

We process purchase and subscription information necessary to determine whether your account has access to Pro features.

We may also report successful purchase or subscription conversion events to TikTok to measure advertising performance.

Restoring an existing purchase is intended to restore your entitlement rather than create a new purchase.

8. Data retention

We retain your account and workout information for as long as your account remains active, unless a different retention period is required by law or necessary for legitimate operational purposes.

When you delete your account, we delete the associated account and workout records from our active systems.

Some information may remain temporarily in system backups, security logs, or records that must be retained for legal or operational reasons.

Information previously transmitted to third-party service providers, including advertising measurement providers, may be retained according to their applicable retention policies and legal obligations.

9. Deleting your data

You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated workout data directly within Traq:

Profile → Delete Account

Deleting your account removes the associated account and workout records from our active systems.

You can also remove locally stored app data by deleting Traq from your device.

Deleting your Traq account does not necessarily delete information previously processed by independent third-party services, including Apple or TikTok.
